Albina Onay (1979 - )

She was born in Russia on October 12, 1979. She started her art education at the age of 8, at a children's art school that lasted five years. Although she received an education in economics after the regime change in the country, her connection with art never ceased. She continued her education at the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Turkey.

The artist tries to reveal a personal sense of time and space in her works. In her practice, she examines the fine line between reality and illusion, addressing the difference between our projections and our inner perception of life.

Her essays explore different forms of relationship with reality, addressing the issues of memory, consciousness, borders and identity. The rich creative solutions that emerge from the interaction of contrasts and contradictions form the motivation of the artist.
