Ebru Uygun

EBRU UYGUN (1974 -   )

She was born in Istanbul in 1974. She studied art in Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 1993-1994. She studied at the Department of Art and Design at Kingston University in 1994-1995 and graduated from Brighton University, Department of Illustration in 1995-98. She creates abstract compositions by creating different textures on the canvas. In her works, there is a foggy-hazy visuality created with the material that is fed, flowed on the canvas and spread on the tissue of the cloth in line with its own qualities, and the brush strokes are vaguely felt. The works of the artist trying to understand what kind of imagery the material and technique create in the whole canvas in her paintings are open to randomness due to the techniques and methods she uses. Image is a phenomenon that occurs randomly in her art, and there is no story at all. She continues her life and her work in Istanbul.
