Veli Sapaz

VELİ SAPAZ (1942 -   )

Veli Sapaz was born in Sungurlu in 1942. He graduated from Ankara Gazi Education Institute, Department of Painting. He opened 35 personal exhibitions and participated in more than 100 group exhibitions. He received an award in the Tekel competition. He worked as a lecturer in Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty Painting Department. He retired in 1998.

"My Paintings are like love songs. Sometimes it is Bozlak, sometimes long air, sometimes it is halay. It smells of Anatolia, Thracian welcome, Black Sea Horon, Aegean Zeybegi, Erzurum Bar, Artvin Atabarı, Elazığ Çayda Çayı, Çorum İğdeli Bride, Yozgat Bozlağı, The Yoghurt of Silifke, the Ankara Fidayda. It smells of love, it becomes a rug, a carpet, a flower. Embroidery appears. The figures sometimes become distinct, sometimes they become stained. I give a core, sometimes there are four gardens. Sometimes black soil. But there is always hope. sometimes there is an open composition. I prepare the sack myself so that the infrastructure is solid, I constantly work so that the pallet does not dry. I open an exhibition every year so that I can stay on the agenda. I think in dimensions so that it can be reflected in my paintings. I don't talk too much so that my works speak I am in love with painting, so that my love does not end. They have no names, in order to leave something for the audience. Your editions are appropriate, so that you can enter every house. I love freedom, peace, friendship, honesty and people so that I can paint. I don't want to say too much so that I can cut it short ... "
