BAYRAM GÜMÜŞ (1960 -   )

Born in Konya in 1960, Bayram Gümüş moved to Istanbul with his family in 1967. During his military service, which started in 1980, the artist started painting as a souvenir for his friends to spend his free time. After completing his military service, the artist continued to work in various daily jobs and paint, and after meeting Kasım Koçak in 1983, he accelerated his painting studies. Gümüş, who then worked in the workshops of Kasım Koçak and İbrahim Çiftçioğlu, opened his own workshop in 1984 and started to earn his living with painting.

In his works, Gümüş interprets village weddings, the hectic life in the city, tea gardens, houses with light leaking from their windows in the evening hours, and the joy of life and happiness specific to pure-hearted painters, with a sincere palette. Bayram Gümüş, who is also among the representatives of naive painting, sincerely interprets the joy of life and happiness specific to this style of painters within his unique understanding of color. The artist, who received awards in various painting competitions, has had his works exhibited in many personal and group exhibitions. The artist continues his life and works in Istanbul.
