İZZET KERİBAR (1936 -   )

Keribar was born in İstanbul in 1936. He has shown interest in photography since his early ages. In 1957, he went to Korea for his Military service where he took photographs and improved his technique fro an entire year. After a long break, he resumed working on photography in 1980. Since then, he has been organizing trips for photographers, both in Turkey and abroad as well as producing photographic works intensively. His archive of photographs of Turkey and the world is among the very well renowned in the country. Keribar is an honorary member of İstanbul Photograpy and Cinema Club (IFSAK). He was awarded the title of EFIAP (Excellency) in 1988 by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). He has devoted himself to the development of photography in Turkey and greatly contributed to the recognition of Turkish photography around the world. He lives and works in İstanbul.
