VİÇEN ARSLANYAN (1866 - 1942)
He was born in Istanbul in 1866. Arslanyan, who graduated from the School of Fine Arts in 1887, participated in the Turkish Painters Exhibition in 1920 with 10 works and in the Galatasaray Painters exhibition in 1925. Apart from Galatasaray High School, where he worked for many years, he worked as an art teacher in many schools, especially in Armenian Schools. Viçen Arslanyan, who also studied charcoal, oil and watercolor, chose interiors as the subject of his paintings. Mosque interiors and exteriors are mostly the main subjects of his works. His most successful works are mosque interiors in accordance with the style of Şevket Dağ. Fikret Mualla is among the important painters trained by Viçen Arslanyan, who is also a master on landscape. The artist, who died in 1942, has works in many private collections.
