Cavit Atmaca (1931- )
Cavit Atmaca was born in Adapazarı in 1931. He graduated from the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts with a master degree. From 1963 to 1971, he served as a director in the Kütahya State Fine Arts Gallery, which he founded. In 1971, he started working as a deputy manager at the Izmir Painting and Sculpture Museum. Atmaca taught painting at the Buca Faculty of Education of Dokuz Eylül University between 1976 and 1981, and retired in 1981. He then established his workshop in Alsancak, and taught painting. Currently, he continues painting and art activities at his workshop. Atmaca has had over 34 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group national and international exhibitions. His works can be seen in Izmir and Ankara State Painting and Sculpture Museums, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, National Library Collections, and various private collections in Turkey and abroad.
