Bahar Kocaman

BAHAR KOCAMAN (1961 - )

Kocaman was born in Edirne in 1961. The artist, who graduated from the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1983, featured her first solo show in Istanbul in 1987. She completed her doctorate degree in 1998.Her paintings are in some significant collections in both Turkey and abroad. She worked as an assistant professor at Faculty of Fine Arts, Kocaeli University, in between 2003-2006.  Her former paintings were composed of figurative abstractions based on comprehensive and descriptive brush touches. However, her recent paintings include abstract collaged compositions. She is still working as an instructor for Beykent University. Bahar Kocaman lives and works in Istanbul.
