BUBİ (1956 -  )

Bubi was born in Istanbul in 1956. He studied psychology and anthropology in Istanbul University. Being an auto-didactic in his art, artist’s early works present the concepts from geometrical compositions to textile variation on canvas. His works were designated as 18 periods by art historian and critic Yalçın Sadak. Bubi’s art pieces were sold on Sotheby’s and Christie’s and also included in many collections in both Turkey and abroad. In his works, he combines painted fabric cordons in vertical and horizontal cage shapes and plaited compositions. His works are considered as new and authentic when compared to the traditional canvas paintings. He lives and works in Istanbul.
