MUSTAFA KARYAĞDI (1961 -  )

He was born in Konya in 1961. He graduated from Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, Higher Painting Department. He is working as a lecturer at Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting. The artist aims to reveal the change in perception both in the image itself and conceptually. Turning towards a kind of self-analysis with the image that he treated as a visual text, the artist opened eight solo exhibitions. The fact that the conventional subjects in his works are the iconographies that the audience knows, recognizes and adopts allows an artistic investigation, the audience to question himself, and the artistic taboos to be examined. The artist, whose works are in private and public museums and collections, continues his life and work in Istanbul.
