Remzi Savaş (1947 - )

He was born in 1947 in Eşme district of Uşak. He received his art education at Gazi Education Institute, Department of Painting and graduated in 1969. In the early 1970s, while teaching painting at a public school in Malatya, he went to France to receive specialization training in sculpture with the scholarship he won from the Ministry of National Education. Savaş, who took French lessons at Sorbonne University, graduated from Paris State Fine Arts School in 1974. After staying in Paris for another year and working on the arts of plastic materials, he returned to his country and entered Gazi University as a lecturer. The artist, who received his proficiency in art from Hacettepe University in 1983, undertook the founding of the Sculpture Department under the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1985. Remzi Savaş, who was promoted to associate professor in 1987 and professor in 1993; He retired in 2006 after working at Hacettepe for many years.
