Sadettin Çağlarca (1914 - 2006)

He was born in 1914 in Üsküdar, Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul Teacher's School in 1933. While continuing as a student at the Fine Arts Academy in 1938, he took the exams of Gazi Education Institute and became an art teacher. He worked as an art teacher in Aydın and Gallipoli. In 1950, he was sent to France by the state in order to increase his knowledge and experience. Afterwards, he stayed in England and Italy for six months and completed his research. He returned to Konya High School in 1952 as an art teacher. After working as an art teacher at Mersin High School between 1959 and 1964, he was appointed to Istanbul. He taught Painting and Art History for 14 years at Eyüp High School and Üsküdar Burhan Felek High School. He opened many exhibitions in the cities he lived in. During his teaching, he wrote literary articles and articles in Yücel Magazine in Istanbul and in various newspapers and magazines in Aydın. He was known for writing social and political articles in Meram Newspaper for 7 years in Konya. During these efforts, "Pencil Painting Technique", "Painting - Sculpture Plastic Arts", "Watercolor Painting Technique", "Perspective Painting and Shadow Drawing", "Color and Harmony Rules", "Golden Ratio", which are technical works in the field of painting. He published valuable works named “Oil Painting Technique”. He trained students for the Academy of Fine Arts in his workshop. Salacak passed away in 2006 in Üsküdar.
