Ali Demir

ALİ DEMİR (1931-2015)

Demir was born in Kayseri, in 1931. Demir is an otodidactic artist and was first known for his outdoors exhibitions in big cities. The artist received many accolades; TRT Achievement Award for Painting in 1971, Yarımca Festival Painting Contest Achievement Award, 1972 and the 8.th DYO Exhibition Special Jury Award, 1974. His paintings are mostly colored from brown to yellow, regional subjects, village life, remaining true to real life stories. Man and his surroundings, the town, the city he lives in are the main topic of his paintings. Demir has had mpre then 100 exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He passed away in 2015.
