SALİM ÖZÜDOĞRU (1927 - 2015)
Özüdoğru was born in 1927 in Amasya. The first canvas he made is the picture of Atatürk in uniform on a horse. His works have great importance in Turkish Painting.
He is one of the most important masters of color and light. The interpretation and romantic attitude he brought to the painting was highly appreciated by artists and art lovers, and his works found wide coverage in prestigious collections at home and abroad.
More than 500 of his works happen to be in the US. He opened a photography workshop on Samsun Gazi Street in 1949-1950. In 1970, he moved his workshop to Istanbul.
His works have been included in important collections such as Sakıp Sabacı Museum, Yıldız Palace Museum, Military Museum, Seniye Sultan Mansion, Şakir Eczacıbaşı personal collection.
He has transferred all the historical mansions and other historical artifacts in the Bosphorus to his paintings.
