SABRİ AKÇA (1936 -   )

Sabri Akça was born in Eskişehir in 1936. He passed the talent exam in 1951 and entered the Istanbul Capa Painting Department. Three years later, he started the Painting Department of Gazi Education Institute. While still a student, the artist, whose five works were accepted in the 1956-1957 State Painting and Sculpture Exhibitions, won the State Painting Award in 1980 and the honorable mention in the DYO Painting Competition in 1981. He has many works which are displayed in collections in Europe, United States and Turkey. The artist, who started his painting teacher career in Kastamonu in 1957 and worked as a teacher at Gazi Education Institute and Gazi University for many years, continues his painting studies, which he focused on after his retirement, in his own workshop in Ankara.
