Hanns Prehn von Dewitz is a German writer who lived between 1885-1970. Although Dewitz is known for being one of the first to produce science fiction in German, he draws attention with his use of detailed descriptions in his novels. In his novel "Der Kampf um Konstantiopel", translated to "The Struggle for Constantinople" in English, he described the Dardanelles War that took place in 1914-1915 and the process leading to it from the perspectives of the Turks. The book includes illustrations drawn by Ernst Wetzenstein with ink and a map of Çanakkale.
