Born in Erzincan in 1965, Turan Aksoy graduated from Gazi University, Painting Department in 1986, and completed his master's and doctorate degrees at the University of Central England and was appointed as a lecturer at Hacettepe University in 1997. Aksoy, who received the title of Associate Professor in 1998, started to work as a faculty member at Yeditepe University in 2002. In 2005, he was appointed as a professor at the same university. The artist, who lives in Istanbul, opened the exhibitions "Dust and Bustle" in 2012 and "Luminous Things" in 2010 at Pi Artworks. In 2009, he participated in the “Temporary Discomfort” exhibition within the scope of the Istanbul 2010 Portable Art Project, and his works were exhibited in international fairs such as Art Dubai and Contemporary Istanbul in 2012. Among the corporate collections he is involved in are the Istanbul Modern and Taviloğlu Collections. Based on concepts such as human and environment, human and nature, history and tradition, he works to deepen the image of visuality that will express the taste of modernity in his large-scale compositions that question reality.
