Mehmet Akkaya

Born in Burdur in 1972, Mehmet Akkaya graduated from Gazi University Painting Department in 1994 and completed his higher education. He worked as an art consultant, curator and executive board member at various art events, festivals and workshops. He received the “GÖRSED Visual Art Educator of the Year Award” in 2017. Participating in 39 solo exhibitions, seven of which were abroad, as well as many group exhibitions and international workshops, the paintings that Akkaya produced in series during his art journey are like a reflection of the atmosphere of emotion and thought that intensified at that time of his life. Akkaya still continues his artistic activities in his workshop in Aydın.
