Şükrü Karakuş

Karakuş was born in Malatya in 1956. He graduated from the Painting Department of Atatürk Institute of Education in İstanbul. He received his MA from the Painting Department of Fine Arts Faculty of Mimar Sinan University. He worked in Arteleku Art Center in Spain between 1994-1996. He opened personal exhibitions and participated in mixed exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. Karakuş took part in 2007 Sao Paulo-Valencia Biennial. Some of his works are with the Pessac Municipality in France, Tolosa Municipality in Spain, Xarxa Museum, in Valencia Spain. His works are acrylics on canvas, and contain collage, oxidation, and partial surface aesthetics and abstract techniques based on texture. He has been living and working in Spain since 1993.
