HARUN ACI (1958-)

Harun Acı was born in Edirne in 1958. The artist, who started to study at the Advanced Painting Department of the State Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul in 1976, he completed his education in the workshop of the artist Prof. Özdemir Altan. The artist made significant contributions to the production of the 340x900 cm tapestry designed by artist Prof. Zekai Ormancı for the Presidential Mansion Hall of Fame in Çankaya in 1990. Between 1998-2008 Prof. Together with the painter Zekai Ormancı, he carried out many different works in Zekai Ormancı's workshop.

Hakan Acı, who determines the structure of his works by making use of the integrity of colors, lighting, lines and shapes, emphasizes the light formations reflected from the canvas in his works, commands the whole composition and gives a digital visual impression. The artist aims to achieve irrelevant and aesthetic organic integrity in the fictional spaces he creates by using the collage technique in his works. He brings a lively dynamism and rhythm to his paintings with different overlapping and interlocking shapes, color bodies and color contrasts. In his works, the artist reshapes the shapes he finds during his research with a modern artistic style that is disconnected from all external patterns and free from unnecessary reality.

The works of Harun Acı, who opened eight solo exhibitions between 2013 and 2018, also took part in many group exhibitions.
