Erol Eskici

EROL ESKİCİ (1984 - )

Erol Eskici, born in Hakkari in 1984 graduated from the Adana Fine Arts High School in 2003 and Mimar Sinan University, Fine Arts Department Faculty of Painting in 2006. He reflects the struggle between himself and his work, to depict militaristic iconography, topography, traumatism created by memories, violence, language and tools used in ideological conflicts as well as the psychological mindset of minorities. The destruction pictured in his works acquires a physical dimension which is defined by the violent conflict between metallic and mechanic structures underlining the topographical meaning lying hidden behind an organic process. The artist who participated in the 10th Istanbul Biennale and an exhibition in London, lives and works in Istanbul.
