Serdar Arat

He was born in 1955 in Istanbul. He graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Administrative Sciences in 1977. He studied painting at the State University of New York between 1983-1984.

The artist, who opened his first personal exhibition in Istanbul in 1975, participated in various group exhibitions in the United States. In 1992, he was among the artists selected to represent Turkey at the 4th International Asia-Europe Art Biennial.

In three-dimensional arrangements made of different materials, he tends to diversify side forms around the axial form of a certain composition, and tries to reinforce a personal expression without losing sight of the basic relationship.
