Nihan Yalçın Çetinkaya ( 1979 - )

Nihan Yardimci Cetinkaya was born in 1979 in Ankara. After completing his university education at Bilkent University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Design, he completed his master's degree at the same university. The main subject that the artist deals with in his works is the concepts of memory/mind. The artist, who sees Jungian approaches close to himself in the themes of memory, consciousness and unconsciousness, and reflects these areas to his works by embodying them, stands out with the density of materials and layers in his technique. He navigates between the layers of consciousness with the regression method and transfers the moments he captures to the canvas using dense layers. Invited to the 2015 Florence Biennial, Nihan Yanık Çetinkaya began to be recognized in the international art world with the series The Secret Memory of the City. Following the Upper Buenavista solo exhibition parallel to the 2018 Miami Art Basele, the artist exhibited her works at the London Aria Art Gallery in 2019 and participated in the 2019 Art Miami Context.
