İrfan Dönmez

İrfan Dönmez (1980-   )  

Dönmez was born in Eskişehir in 1980. He graduated from Anatolian University Faculty of Education, Painting department. In 2008, he completed his Masters Degree in the department of Printing Arts, in the Faculty of Education of the same university. Today he is enrolled in Gazi University Fine Arts Institute Art Painting department doing his graduate studies on his thesis named ”The Relationship between Spirit and Body in Painting’’. Dönmez is a Faculty member at Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University Bozüyük Vocational School Graphic Design. 

The source of artist’s oil canvases is from his own photographs.  Sometimes he blurrs the vision with the aid of his tripod, creates motion by photographic image movement. Causing motion he accentuates the relationship between the ambiguoity of identity and motion. Sometimes he piles self taken photographs one on top of the other all taken in different times and places. This way he creates a schizophrenic ‘Me’.
