ARDA YALKIN (1974 - )
Yalkın was born in Ankara in 1974. He left Eskişehir Anatolian University Tourism Management Department and Ankara University Archaeology-Restoration Department for his dream to become a musician. Yalkın moved to Istanbul in 1999, worked in sound technologies for awhile and developed an interest for video, animation and vfx by 2004. The artist is determined to take the audience and himself on a trip in his new media works questioning, intimacy, violence, consumption, chaos and the loss of societal limits. The artist believes that capital and political power are the ultimate communication language that is refined and very well played in order to exploit humans and has made it his purpose to cause trouble within his own methods. He uses topics such as the conflict between the individual power at work, consumption society, assimilation, war, politics, religion and annihilation. Yalkın lives and works in Istanbul.
