Orhan Taylan (1941 - )

Taylan was born in Samsun in 1941. He graduated from the Decorative Art Department of the Rome Fine Art Academy. His art is based on universal themes such as peace and friendship, and the major problematic issue is the figure. The basic subject is the model that poses in different positions in indoor areas, and the artist’s viewpoint on the model, as well as the still life elements designed together with the model. In Taylan’s artwork, figure symbolizes life, opposition and confidence in future. The human bodies in motion are treated with the disfigurement technique. He continues to live and work in İstanbul.
