Artin Demirci (1960 - )

Artin Demirci was born in 1960 in Hatay. Demirci, a Turkish Armenian painter, graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1986. The artist, who started his painting education at Neşet Günal's Atelier, continued his education at Neşe Erdok Atelier. Continuing to work in his own workshop, Artin Demirci opened his first exhibition in 1987 at Istanbul Sanfa Art Gallery, where he studied five still lifes and mostly sea themed paintings. He made many paintings based on the impressions of the Istanbul - Antakya route, which he had accumulated by visiting many times during his childhood and youth years. These works were included in the Product Art Gallery with the title Antakya - Istanbul - Antakya in 2005. He continued on his canvases the series of drawings that he describes as "things that are not happening but are happening" in his recent notebooks. Demirci's paintings, which had over thirty personal exhibitions, are also included in many private collections. Artin Demirci lives and works in Istanbul.
