Orhan Umut (1972 - )

Orhan Umut, a painter and art educator, was born in Diyarbakir in 1972. The painter graduated from Izmir Dokuz Eylül University and later graduated from Hasan Rstgeldi Workshop. He keeps the composition of time, space and human dimension hidden in his works and places them on abstract planes, preventing them from being stuck in a narrow frame. He continues his figurative painting works in which expression is predominant but without compromising on plastic elements such as color, line, speckle and stain.

Umut, who has opened many solo and group exhibitions in Izmir, Ankara, Diyarbakir and Istanbul since 1997, is still working as an art educator at Diyarbakir Nevzat Ayaz Anatolian High School and continues his painting works in his private studio.
