Ardan Özmenoğlu (1979 - )

The works of Ardan Özmenoğlu, who received his undergraduate and graduate education at Bilkent Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, consist of site-specific installations and transparent glass sculptures created using screen printing techniques on different material surfaces. The artist develops a special language that overlaps cultural history with daily life by using the material with its meaning, especially in post-it notes, neon and glass artworks. Özmenoğlu is among the unique lines of contemporary art in Turkey with the speed of communication and technology defined by our age, slippery surfaces and abundant references, signs and slalom visuals. Many of his works are informed by his own biography, but they also constitute a universal example of the artistic examination of national and cultural identity, individuality and collective visual memory. The artist, who has many works in national and international museums and collections, continues his work and life in his workshop in Yeniköy, Istanbul.
