ŞAHIN PAKSOY (1952 - )
Born in 1952, Şahin Paksoy started his art education by studying ceramics at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts between 1973 and 1980, although he was interested in painting since his childhood. Since his first exhibition in 1980, while he was still a student, he has participated in many group and solo exhibitions at home and abroad. The artist, who held his last personal exhibition in 2013, has recently focused on collecting.
Paksoy, inspired by traditional elements such as Ottoman miniature art, Byzantine icons and Seljuk carpets, is about the people he encounters in his daily life. In his works where human figures come to the fore; By creating a unique language, he often depicts the lifestyle and values of the traditional Anatolian people, as if he wanted to tell a story with his unique language, which he created by blending their impressions with their emotions. The artist also creates figurative sculptures based on the figures in his oil paintings. His latest works include abstract works.
