MUSTAFA PİLEVNELİ (1940 -   )

Pilevneli was born in Istanbul in 1940. He studied Decorative Painting at the Applied Fine Arts School of Istanbul (currently known as Marmara University). He conducted a research about decorative wall painting techniques in Stuttgart with the scholarship of DAD in 1963. He studied print techniques in Salzburg Summer Academy in 1970. He participated in exhibitions in Yugoslavia, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Japan, Holland, Belgium and USA and the Oslo Biennial. His works, mostly done with watercolor techniques, reflect his love for human beings, nature, and the environment. Seashores, blue voyage boat trips, views of the sea and of İstanbul are the main subjects of his watercolor paintings. His big format paintings depicting the opening and hidden inside of caves, reflect rarely seen beautiful landscapes. He lives and works in Istanbul.
