5th Degree Crimean Model Mecid Order
With its original ribbon
Sultan Abdülmecid issued the "Mecidiye Order" with 5 degrees (rank) bearing his name in 1851. The decoration sold at the auction is the 5th Degree Crimean type Mecidi Order, the tugra part is slightly curved and the surrounding is red enamel. The words "sene 1268" are written below, "Gayret" on the left, "Hakimiyet" above, and "Sadakat" on the right, inside the ornate cartridges on the enamel. There is a red enameled crescent and star on the hanger above the engagement ring.
