ENİS AKTAŞ (1956 - 2017)
Enis Aktaş was born in Ankara in 1956. The artist, who graduated from Gazi Teacher Training School, Department of Painting in 1982, completed his Master's Degree at Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts. He retired from Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2007, where he started as a lecturer in 2000. In the 1980s, when "neo-expressionist" art trends started in Turkish painting; Individual approaches towards the problem of existence and symbolic expression brought a new dynamism with original formations and dominant colors. His works, complexities in the inner life of human beings, issues with social content; consists of figural abstractions that deal with emotions such as fear, surprise, emotional enthusiasm, tension, and women's resistance to life, and the struggle for existence. Spots and linear values are used together in his works. The artist, who has produced original works for the 80s generation, has 27 personal exhibitions and contributed greatly to the development of the "new-expression" movement. He passed away in 2017.
