MEHMET ARPACIK (1936 - )

Mehmet Arpacık was born in Bartın in 1936. He could not continue his education after primary school and came to Istanbul at the age of 15. He was influenced by the exhibition of Ali Demir which he went to when he was in his 30s. After this influence Demir started painting and continued till and after his retirement. The artist continued his work in his private studio in Istanbul. He created the life style and nature he was born in through his paintings. The understanding of painting based on a concrete understanding. It ends at a naive stage after a fantastic, fantastic and emotional journey. The painter has opened many personal exhibitions. In 2012, his works were exhibited in New York 'Stevens Institute of Technology The Innovation University' library.
