Zeynep Akgün

ZEYNEP AKGÜN (1975 -   )

Akgün was born in Edirne in 1975. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department in 1997 and received her master’s degree from the Social Sciences Institute of the same university in 2000. When we look at the works of Akgün, the figures which may or may not be subject to gravity, disturb us with their looks. The fluidity of surreal situations anchored with sluggish movements, reflect the conflicts within them. These paintings, which can be qualified as works of volume, seem to be the reflection of our life, represented as a collage exactly as in real life. The artist works and lives in Istanbul.
