Onur Gülfidan

ONUR GÜLFİDAN (1974 - )

Onur Gülfidan, born in Istanbul in 1974, studied at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University where he completed his master’s degree in graphic design and painting. The artist, who depicts mankind’s currently prevailing hard times, uses unrelated figures on canvas to represent stressful moments and global problems. Gülfidan’s figures, mainly depicted in “crippled“ positions, seem to belong to a universe of undefined time or space. The composing shapes of his paintings are used to serve together a common goal rather than representing independent figures pointing at something. He lives and works in Istanbul.
