Ramazan Bayrakoğlu

RAMAZAN BAYRAKOĞLU (1966 - )

Bayrakoğlu was born in 1966 in Balıkesir. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Dokuz Eylül University. In 1989, he was assigned as an assistant to the same Department; later in 1992 he became an Associate Professor. The artist carries out his work by adding a conceptual content to his paintings by keeping the painting at the center, but by dealing different disciplines of art and he aims to change the classical perception of paintings. Bayrakoglu does not adhere to a standard form and has a free style with different materials and complements his work with texts playing with the meanings. He participated in the freekick”exhibition displayed in the 9th International İstanbul Biennial and other shows in Germany, Israel, and Italy as well as Dubai Art Fair, Art-Athens, Athens International Contemporary Art Fair and the 10th İstanbul Biennial. He lives and works in Izmir.
