Tülin Onat

Tülin Onat (1948 - )

Onat was born in Istanbul in 1948. She graduated from the Painting Department of Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (currently known as Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University). She conducted research and examinations in museums abroad since 1967. She attended Salzburg Summer Academy in 1973, granted by the Austrian Government scholarship. She became a professor in 2000 at Marmara University. She still works at the same university as faculty member. The forms in her paintings are concrete objects, in fact one object and its copies. Still they are perceived as whole and abstract. Concrete and in abstract are unified and integrated. She lives and works in Istanbul.
