MEMDUH KUZAY (1957 - )
Born in Kayseri in 1957, Kuzay graduated from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Özdemir Altan Workshop in 1985. He continued his work in his workshop in the United States since 1986. He returned to Turkey in 1994 and served as a faculty member at Mersin University, Faculty of Fine Arts until 2000.
In addition to his large-scale compositions for the organic integration of fabric and paper collages with intense color elements, the artist makes figurative pattern and watercolor works. In all of his paintings with acrylic and oil paints on canvas, he considers balance in composition as a basis and uses rich colors and techniques in this context.
Kuzay, one of Istanbul's well-known contemporary painters, has opened 5 personal exhibitions in Chicago and 9 personal exhibitions in Turkey. The artist, whose works are in many private collections at home and abroad, continues his life and work in Istanbul.
