Cafer Bater

Born in 1913, the artist started painting from an early age. In the 1950s, he concentrated his works on the watercolor genre. He opened his first exhibition in 1957 in Istanbul. He has also held exhibitions in France, Spain and Switzerland. The artist pioneered the first grouping movement among Watercolor Painters in the 1970s. He founded the “Watercolor Painters Group” with his painter friends, who like himself focused on watercolor. On December 5, 1970, they opened their first joint exhibition in Ankara. The artist passed away in Istanbul in 1994.
