HUSEYİN ERTUNÇ (1947 - 2018)

Hüseyin Ertunç, born in Balıkesir in 1947, went to America in 1969 after studying at Ankara College and continued his painting and music studies there for six years. Returning to Istanbul in 1975, Ertunç went to Paris in 1978 and continued his painting works in this city until 1981 and opened various exhibitions. He concentrated on painting in Istanbul between 1981-1987 and in Los Angeles between 1987-1994.

Ertunç, one of the independent spirits of Turkish painting with his abstract expressionist paintings with gestural depth and darkness, passed away in Bodrum, where he had lived since 1994.
